Cengiz

I’ve photographed couples since the early 2000s, with an editorial eye for light, composition and connection. From portraits in Paris to celebrations abroad, I bring calm direction, careful preparation and a sense of fun. The photographs matter. So does how you feel making them.

Meet Cengiz

I’m Cengiz, pronounced “Jen-gis.” I began photographing couples in New York in the early 2000s. Since then, my work has taken me across five continents and into international publications, from intimate portraits to large weddings and private celebrations.

Chantelle and I co-founded Kiss Me in Paris in 2013. Today, I photograph proposals, weddings and couples while helping lead the company we built together. I watch the whole scene: the light, the people, the details and what is about to happen. I work closely with planners and producers, keeping a clear head when the schedule changes.

I also teach photography workshops worldwide and am regularly consulted by international media about Paris proposals, photography and the business behind our celebrations.

Off duty: Bordeaux with my wife, the Lakers, and Patrick Roger’s candied oranges in dark chocolate. My daughter, London, still gives me my favorite job title: Dad.

Some photographs ask for patience: a quiet glance, a parent holding back tears, a laugh that no one saw coming. Others need clear direction, a better angle, or a few minutes in beautiful light. I’m comfortable with both.

At a wedding, I move between candid photojournalism, family portraits, editorial photographs and the details you chose with such care. For a proposal, we work out where I’ll be and how we’ll recognize one another, so you can keep your attention on your partner.

For portraits together, we’ll choose settings and a time of day that suit you. A phone out of a pocket, a softer hand, a breath before the next photograph: small adjustments help you look at ease. Tell me what you love, what feels awkward, and what you’re hoping to bring home.

“Cengiz will artistically capture the intimacy between you and your loved one the way you remember feeling it, while making you look like you just stepped out from the pages of a luxury wedding magazine.”

An editorial eye, shared worldwide

For many years, I was a contributing editor at Grace Ormonde Wedding Style. That experience sharpened my attention to the whole photograph: the people, the room, the light, and the finishing details.

My work has also appeared in WedLuxe, People, Tatler and Carats & Cake, and I have served as a judge for Junebug Weddings.

Through photography workshops around the world, I share what I’ve learned behind the camera and about working with people. For workshop invitations or teaching inquiries, ask about availability and fees.

Before photography, I earned my MBA at Wharton and spent five years on Wall Street. A different career, with useful lessons in preparation and keeping a clear head.

“I’ve worked with many talented photographers over the years, and Cengiz stands head and shoulders above everyone else in Paris.”

A familiar voice in the press

Journalists regularly turn to me for an inside view of Paris proposals, international couples and the work that goes into producing a celebration here. Interviews and coverage include RTL, ARD, Reuters, CNN, AFP and TF1.

Reuters and AFP have interviewed me about the proposal industry, our company’s beginnings, and why couples come to Paris. Our press page brings together the reports, broadcasts and wedding editorials.
