Since 2009, Kiss Me in Paris has been creating joyful couple portraits for fun-loving couples who come to the City of Light seeking amazing photos and loads of laughs. Our Paris-based photographers pioneered sunrise couple photoshoots at Trocadéro—back when we were among the original photographers capturing the iconic location at dawn, well before tourist buses, vendors, or crowds arrived. In 2010, we earned our first international photography award with 1x.com with a fabulous black and white shot featuring a couple, a bird, and a drunken biker who had fallen asleep there.

Today, with over 600 five-star Google reviews and a friendly team of Parisian couple photographers who speak English, Français, Português, 日本語, and Deutsch, we know where and when to shoot for the best couple photos in Paris, how to navigate crowds, and how to make the most of our time together.

Our Approach to Paris Couple Photography

You’ll notice our local expertise from the moment we meet. We schedule Eiffel Tower couple shoots at first light, guide you up Sacré-Cœur and through the fabulous Place du Tertre cafés before the cobblestone streets fill with crowds, and find the best photo angles at the Louvre—day or night—so your Paris couple portraits feel like you had the museum to yourselves.

Behind the scenes, our lighting associate becomes your personal assistant during your Paris photoshoot, carrying belongings, helping you swap heels for comfortable shoes between locations on chilly winter mornings, and flagging down your ride while you’re wrapping up each spot. They even capture candid behind-the-lens moments so you have fun memories of the photo session experience itself.

Our Paris couple photographers are fun, caring, and invested in making your Paris photo session amazing. They’ll prepare you well before the big day and show you the most wonderful time exploring our lovely city together.

Beautiful Paris Locations for Couple Photos

Pont Alexandre III

This elegant bridge showcases ornate Belle Époque details with lovely Eiffel Tower views. Morning sessions capture beautiful Seine reflections, while evening shoots offer romantic golden light.

Sacré-Cœur and Montmartre

The elevated location provides sweeping Paris panoramas—those cinematic views you’ve seen in films like John Wick. Early morning sessions offer serene city views before the area becomes busy.

Trocadero Gardens

Our original sunrise location remains one of Paris’s most iconic backdrops. We know the best angles and timing for classic Eiffel Tower shots that never go out of style.

Tuileries Garden

Tree-lined walkways and architectural details create intimate portrait settings. Seasonal flowers add natural beauty, and the adjacent Louvre courtyard offers stunning contrasts.

Louvre Courtyard

The glass pyramid looks magnificent during blue hour when the courtyard becomes peaceful but the palace remains beautifully illuminated.

What to Wear for Your Paris Photoshoot

You’re photographing in the fashion capital of the world—style matters. Ladies, this is your excuse to finally wear those red-soled Louboutins you’ve been saving.

Choose confidence over trends. Wear something that makes you feel amazing because that confidence shows immediately in photographs. There’s no need to match outfits—you don’t want to look like siblings—but select styles, fabrics, and colors that create harmony.

Sunrise engagement photos at Trocadero offer intimate lighting and iconic Eiffel Tower backdrops for romantic Paris couples.

Color guidance from years of Paris shoots:

  • Bold colors pop magnificently – Red, purple, and yellow create a striking contrast against Paris stone
  • Elegant pastels work beautifully at sunrise and for backlit romantic shots
  • Dark, fitted attire creates dramatic silhouettes – Ideal for evening tower shots (avoid white for silhouettes)
  • Skip fine stripes – They create distracting moiré patterns in photos

Styling suggestions:

  • Gentlemen: A formal black suit remains sophisticated and works everywhere
  • Ladies: Airy, flowing dresses photograph beautifully in spring/summer; consider adding a delicate bouquet or stylish hat
  • When in doubt, lean slightly more elegant than your usual style

Practical considerations:

  • Bring comfortable walking shoes for moving between locations (Louboutins aren’t designed for cobblestone walking)
  • Layer thoughtfully on cold days; hand warmers help during winter sessions
  • Pack essentials: Hairbrush, stylish umbrella (weather dependent), and anything that makes you feel prepared

Remember: These photos will hang in your home for years. Choose outfits you’ll love seeing whenever you walk past them.

How to Feel Natural During Your Paris Photo Session

Most couples aren’t professional models or actors, and that’s actually wonderful—your greatest advantage is the chemistry you and your partner share. Beautiful couple photos come from believable connection, playfulness, and intimacy, not from trying to recreate magazine poses.

The key to natural Paris couple photos: Focus on each other, not on being photographed. Camera awareness creates stiff poses, forced smiles, and awkward hand placement that show in your final images.

Our Paris photographers guide you with clear direction and position you in the most beautiful light. Here are some couple posing techniques to practice beforehand that will help you feel confident and natural during your Paris photo session:

Connection fundamentals for couple photography:

  • Breathe together – Touch foreheads or noses for believable intimacy that photographs beautifully
  • Mindful hand placement – Rest hands on your partner’s face, neck, hips, or heart. Gentlemen can hold jacket lapels or use pockets gracefully. Avoid letting hands dangle awkwardly
  • Natural kiss timing – Never lean your kiss away from the photographer. Either face the camera or lean slightly toward the lens for the most favorable angle
  • The almost-kiss technique – The moment before lips touch creates beautiful anticipation and leaves something magical to the viewer’s imagination

Five Classic Poses That Always Work

1. Standing Close, Looking at Each Other

Stand naturally close and focus on your partner’s eyes and lips. Let your feelings show—this creates the foundation for every other pose.

2. The “Parent-Pleaser” – Facing the Camera Together

Stand face to face, but both look toward the camera. Place hands deliberately on each other’s waist, holding hands, or touching gently. This classic pose works for every couple.

3. The Natural Kiss

Face each other and kiss just as you usually would. Don’t overthink it—your everyday kiss is far more beautiful than any staged version. Keep the kiss brief and sweet rather than letting it linger too long, which can make you conscious of the camera instead of focused on each other.

4. The Romantic Dip

For him: Take a shoulder-width stance for stability. Your right hand supports her around the waist, with most of your weight on your right foot. Your left hand connects with her right hand, like you’re dancing.

For her: Straighten your right leg for elegance, with a slight bend in your left leg. Trust your partner’s support and let yourself relax into the dip.

The secret: A 20-30 degree angle looks graceful and romantic. Going lower doesn’t make it better—it just makes it harder to look elegant.

5. Looking Toward Your Future Together

Hold each other and both look in the same direction—toward the Eiffel Tower, down a beautiful Paris street, or across the Seine. This pose captures the feeling of moving forward together.

Remember: These are starting points, not strict rules. The best photos happen when you’re comfortable, laughing, and enjoying your time in Paris together.

Booking Your Paris Couple Photoshoot—Frequently Asked Questions

How do we book our session?

Book directly through our online booking system or contact our team for a custom booking link when you want special touches like champagne, oversized balloons, or Mercedes van service with hotel pickup. A 50% retainer secures your date, time, and photographer. Once received, our studio managers connect you with your photographer.

What happens if it rains?

We can adjust your session time or suggest alternate locations that work beautifully in any weather. Overcast skies actually provide studio-quality lighting that flatters skin tones and eliminates harsh shadows. Paris also has gorgeous covered spots for romantic rainy-day portraits. Check weather forecasts only 6-8 hours before your session to avoid unnecessary stress.

Do we need permits for Paris landmarks?

It depends on the location and timing. Trocadero, Eiffel Tower, Seine riverside, Bir Hakeim, and Montmartre are flexible anytime. Notre Dame, Pont des Arts, and Alexander III work well throughout the day. However, the Louvre and Palais Royal don’t allow prominent white gowns or large setups during regular hours—sunrise or evening sessions work best. Tuileries main gardens require quick, discreet shooting.

How many edited photos will we receive?

1 hour: 20 masterfully edited photos
2 hours: 45 edited photos
3 hours: 70 edited photos
4+ hours: 100 photos, plus 25 additional per extra hour

All photos are delivered watermark-free in high resolution via private online gallery..

When will we receive our photos?

All unedited photos appear in your private gallery within 24 hours for you to select favorites for editing. Edited photos are delivered within 14 days after your selections, often sooner depending on season. Additional edits cost €5 each, or purchase all unedited photos in high resolution for €100/hour.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit cards, with cash accepted for balance payments. A 50% retainer is required to secure your booking. Full refunds (minus 10% administrative fee) are available when canceled in writing at least 10 days before your session. No refunds after that period.

What if we need to reschedule?

We accommodate schedule changes when possible, though availability may be limited during peak seasons. Your original photographer may not be available on alternate dates, and last-minute changes may incur additional fees since your time slot is exclusively reserved.
