An invitation to the château
A reason to dress for the evening
An invitation reached Joseph and Val at the Hôtel Vernet: a private tour and cocktail reception at a château outside Paris. A vintage Rolls-Royce collected them, taking the scenic route while the garden team finished setting up.
At Vaux-le-Vicomte, a hostess welcomed them and began the tour. In the Grand Salon, Joseph excused himself. One of our planners took him out to the gardens. Val stayed inside, unaware of what his short absence would change.

The music led her to him
A violinist played as dancers in white led Val through the salon toward the terrace. Below, Joseph waited among blue and white hydrangeas and candlelight, tears and rain blurring his glasses. Four ballerinas accompanied Val down the steps, while Nadia sheltered her with a clear umbrella until they met.

The question in the rain
A jazz trio played “What a Wonderful World” as Val stepped outside, followed by “At Last” as she reached Joseph. He proposed, she said yes, and firework fountains lit the rain-soaked garden around them.

The evening still had places to go
There was champagne, then a horse-drawn carriage with two coachmen in top hats. After the music, the steps and the question, Joseph and Val could sit beside each other as the grounds passed around them.
Portraits in the château followed. The Rolls-Royce then took them back to Paris for dinner in a private room at Lapérouse. Later came photographs by the Eiffel Tower and a return to the Hôtel Vernet, where flowers and Parisian delicacies were waiting in their suite.
Joseph had planned far beyond the question. Val kept discovering just how far.

Planning for the evening and the weather
An invitation that explained the practical things
The cover story gave Val a reason for the clothes, the car and the private visit. The hostess helped Joseph leave the tour naturally, while the performers kept Val’s attention inside. Each person knew their part in bringing the couple together in the gardens.

The music continued outside
Euterpe Paris supplied the violinist and four ballerinas. Their performance carried Val from the salon to the terrace, where Oceano Jazz continued the music. We coordinated the change between ensembles with her arrival at the steps and Joseph waiting below.
Time inside a private venue window
The château’s private access window was three hours, and outdoor setup could begin only after the grounds became private. Rain added time to a schedule that was already closely coordinated.
Chantelle and Nadia adjusted the sequence and arranged for vendors to stay longer. The scenic drive gave the garden team additional setup time. Calls stayed with the planners, leaving Joseph free to concentrate on Val.

Paris was being prepared while they were at Vaux
The carriage, the return transfer, dinner and late portraits all needed their own timing. While the couple celebrated, the hotel suite was being prepared for their return.
Planning the entire evening meant keeping those teams informed as the château schedule changed.
