Camelia and Alex’s proposal film
The Night
Camelia and Alex spent the early evening being photographed around Paris with her sister and her sister’s partner. It was a real session, with every reason to dress for an evening out.
Outside Shangri-La, the photographer said goodnight. Camelia’s sister and her partner left to meet friends, or so Camelia believed. Once the couple settled at the hotel bar, the pair quietly joined her parents upstairs.
Camelia expected drinks, then dinner at La Bauhinia. When the team upstairs was ready, Alex excused himself.
A hostess approached with one red rose and a note from Alex, then led Camelia upstairs. Harp and violin played as candlelight marked the way through the suite to its private terrace. Alex waited among red flowers, with the Eiffel Tower behind him.
He knelt. She said yes. Moments later, her family stepped out with champagne.

The Challenge
Alex wanted the photoshoot to feel finished before the proposal began. Four parts had to line up.
Making the shoot feel finished
The session could not simply continue into the hotel. The photographer had to say goodnight, Camelia’s sister had to leave without creating a new question, and the plan for drinks and dinner had to make sense on its own.

Four family members out of sight
Camelia’s parents arrived separately. Her sister and her partner needed to return upstairs without being seen by Camelia. Their entrance had to wait until the couple was settled at the bar.

A terrace kept as a surprise
Alex had reserved a suite with a private Eiffel Tower terrace. The couple was staying elsewhere, so arriving for drinks gave Camelia no hint of what was waiting upstairs.

Dinner for six after the proposal
The terrace held the proposal and their first portraits together as an engaged couple. Once Camelia and Alex went downstairs for portraits on Shangri-La Paris’s grand staircase, our proposal planning team could prepare the terrace for dinner for six.
How We Planned the Evening
01 · The real photoshoot
The photographer’s goodbye mattered as much as the session itself. Ending outside the hotel made the photographs feel complete before the next part of the evening began.
02 · Drinks before dinner
Drinks before dinner at La Bauhinia was the cover story. It kept Camelia downstairs while the family and event team took their positions. Alex waited for the planner’s signal before leaving the bar.
03 · Separate routes for the family
Her parents arrived separately; her sister and her partner returned after saying goodbye. The team kept all four out of view until Camelia and Alex had their moment together.
04 · The rose and Alex’s note
Once Alex was on the terrace, the hostess brought his note and a rose to Camelia. She waited while Camelia read, then invited her upstairs. One small gesture changed the direction of the evening.
05 · The terrace reset
After the proposal, Champagne and portraits on the terrace, Camelia and Alex went downstairs to Shangri-La Paris’s famous staircase with the photographer and videographer. With the terrace clear, our team changed the setting for dinner for six.

The Result
A photoshoot, a drink at the bar, a rose with a note: each part led Camelia a little closer to Alex without revealing the next surprise.
When her family joined them after the yes, the evening became a celebration for six. The plan continued with dinner on the terrace, a birthday cake for her father and a limousine ride through Paris.
Alex had time alone with Camelia for the question. Then the people she loved were there to celebrate with them.
A private terrace for the whole evening
The suite’s private terrace brought the Eiffel Tower into the evening, from the proposal to the family dinner that followed.
For Alex, privacy meant two things: a moment alone with Camelia and room to welcome her family afterward. The suite and terrace let both happen in one place, with the musicians nearby and dinner still to come.

Questions We Hear First
How did the photoshoot help keep Camelia’s proposal a surprise?
The session ended before the proposal began.
The photographer said goodbye outside Shangri-La. Camelia expected drinks and dinner next, while the photographer quietly returned upstairs to the private terrace.
When did Camelia’s family join them?
Her family joined after she said yes.
Camelia’s parents, sister and her sister’s partner waited out of view. Alex and Camelia had the proposal to themselves before the family arrived with Champagne.
How did the proposal become dinner for six?
Our team prepared dinner while the couple was downstairs for portraits on Shangri-La Paris’s grand staircase.
Their terrace portraits came first. Only once the couple, photographer and videographer had left the terrace could the team change it from the proposal setting to dinner for six.
