Mitch and Aydan’s proposal film
Film by Tuan Nguyen Films · Planning and production by Kiss Me in Paris · 0:58
The evening
The day before, an invitation reached their hotel: a printed card illustrated with the museum, inviting them to a private visit after hours.
A car collected them from their hotel. An English-speaking guide met them at the entrance and led them through the mansion. Along the way, she returned to Édouard André and Nélie Jacquemart, and the collection they spent their married life building.
White flowers rose along the marble staircase. Flameless candlelight traced the floor. Tatevik played live violin. Four paintings of Mitch and Aydan stood on gilded easels among the flowers. Mitch went down on one knee. Aydan said yes. Champagne and portraits followed under the glass roof while the cameras moved quietly through the museum. Dinner for two waited in the Grand Salon. A car took them back to their hotel at the end of the evening.

The Challenge
The invitation, private tour, paintings and dinner had to work together without giving away the surprise.
A Cover She Could Believe
The invitation, car and private guide all had to make sense as part of an ordinary private museum visit. Aydan needed a reason to arrive at the museum, follow the tour and reach the Winter Garden without suspecting what waited behind the final doors.

A Reveal Worth The Room
The Winter Garden already carries the scale of a private museum. The proposal needed to add to it rather than compete with it. White flowers, flameless candlelight, live violin and four paintings from Mitch and Aydan’s life gave the room a personal reason to change.

Their History, Made Visible
Mitch wanted Aydan to walk into their shared history. Four scenes from their life together were painted by Nadia, one of our planners, framed and placed on gilded easels among the flowers.

An Evening That Continued After The Yes
The proposal was not the end of the evening. Champagne and portraits followed in the Winter Garden, then dinner for two in the Grand Salon. The route stayed inside the museum rather than sending them back into the city.
How We Planned the Evening
01 · Building a believable cover
The proposal began with a simple idea: give Aydan a reason to expect a special evening, but nothing that would reveal what was coming.
A printed museum invitation, private car and English-speaking guide made the evening feel complete on its own. Mitch could enjoy the surprise without having to invent a complicated explanation for where they were going.
02 · Letting the venue lead
Rather than filling the museum with decoration, we worked with the character of the Winter Garden.
The design used white flowers, flameless candlelight and live violin to complement the marble, glass and staircase. The room remained recognizably Jacquemart-André, but became personal to Mitch and Aydan for the evening.
03 · Making it about them
Nadia painted four scenes from Mitch and Aydan’s life together. Framed for the Winter Garden, they were theirs to take home after the celebration.
04 · Planning the reveal
The timing mattered as much as the design. Mitch shared his live location with the planning team and waited for our go-ahead. The Winter Garden was kept out of sight until the room, violinist and cameras were ready. Only then did the guide open the doors.
05 · Keeping the evening together
The proposal was designed as one continuous evening rather than a single surprise followed by a change of plans.
After the proposal, champagne and portraits continued in the Winter Garden before dinner for two in the Grand Salon. The museum remained the setting throughout, allowing the evening to move naturally from the proposal into the celebration.

The Result
The evening was called The Art of Love. Nadia’s four paintings were personal to Mitch and Aydan, and theirs to take home.
The ring was a toi et moi design: a cushion-cut ruby and a pear-shaped diamond, framed in pavé and set in rose gold. It sat under glass on a clear column, lit like another object in the collection.
Why Musée Jacquemart-André?
An Eiffel Tower terrace gives you the skyline. A château proposal gives you gardens and scale. Jacquemart-André gave Mitch a former private home in central Paris, an art collection, and a route from tour to proposal to dinner without changing venue. Compare the museum with other places to propose in Paris.
Édouard André commissioned the mansion in 1868. He later married Nélie Jacquemart, a portraitist, and they devoted their married life to expanding the collection that still hangs on its walls. Their history gave the private tour its ending, and the four paintings a reason to be there. For a private hotel salon with dinner in the same room, compare Ryan and Alexie’s Le Bristol proposal.

Questions We Hear First
Can you propose at Musée Jacquemart-André in Paris?
A private proposal was possible for Mitch and Aydan as part of an approved after-hours museum visit. Future access, spaces, and production arrangements depend on the museum’s approval and availability. For their evening, an invitation, car, and English-speaking guide made the visit a believable surprise.
Who arranges the museum access and vendors?
Kiss Me in Paris coordinated the museum access, approvals, and vendors for Mitch and Aydan. The private visit, flowers, live violin, photography, film, catering, and four custom paintings all had to fit the museum’s access window. We confirm what the venue permits before committing to a new production.
Can you add something personal to the proposal?
Yes. Mitch wanted the proposal to reflect their life together, so four scenes from their relationship were painted especially for the evening.
Nadia created the paintings by hand and displayed them on gilded easels in the Winter Garden. All four traveled home with Mitch and Aydan afterward.
Can dinner happen inside Musée Jacquemart-André after the proposal?
It did for Mitch and Aydan. Champagne and portraits followed the proposal in the Winter Garden, then dinner for two in the Grand Salon. Dinner inside the museum must be specifically approved and included in the venue and catering arrangements; it is not an automatic part of a visit.
What does a Musée Jacquemart-André proposal cost?
The museum access is the first line of the budget; the design, the musicians, the photography and film, the custom paintings, and dinner follow from it.
We quote proposal planning and production separately for your evening. You approve the costs before anything is booked. Our Paris proposal cost guide explains the wider budget.
