Albums made by hand, one at a time

We offer some of the world’s finest albums for the photographs you want to keep and pass down.

Your photographs in print

We work with album makers and bookbinders in New Zealand, England, and France to offer you the finest that money can buy. At your consultation, we’ll help you choose a book you’ll be proud to share with family and friends and one day pass down.

The collection

Choose your book

All three books are handmade.

The New Zealand album

The matted book in our film is a benchmark for wedding albums. French mills supply the paper for the pages, and the makers trim and mount the photographs by hand. For the cover, you can choose Italian leather.

Printed and handbound in Auckland, New Zealand.

The English album

This English bindery has made albums for British royalty. Yours is made to order, from the dimensions to the lettering. You might choose your initials on linen, a family monogram on leather, or a dedication on the opening page.

Made by hand in England.

The French album

Our most exclusive commission is a one-of-a-kind, large-format photography book. A designer and fine-art printer work together on the pages while a separate atelier makes the cover. A Paris bookbinder gathers the prints, binds the volume by hand, and inspects the finished book.

Printed and bound in Paris, France.

Books to keep and give

The proposal book

We’ll make an album of the photographs we took at your Paris proposal. Keep it for the two of you, or surprise your partner with it on your first anniversary.

The wedding album

Choose the wedding photographs you love most, and we’ll design a handmade album around them. If you’d rather leave the first design to us, your photographer can choose the images for you.

The boudoir book

Your boudoir portraits stay private under the nondisclosure agreement included with your session. For the New Zealand album, you can request a women-only team from design through printing, binding, and the final quality check. Keep the book for yourself or give it to your partner the night before your wedding.

The reception guest book

In an 18 × 12-inch guest book, one of your proposal or engagement photographs can fill a whole page. We leave the facing page for family and friends to write you a personal note at the reception.

How your album is made

  1. Request a consultation. We show you the three albums and help you compare sizes, covers, and lettering. Once you choose a book, we discuss any personal details you’d like inside. You receive a quote before design begins.
  2. Shape the first layout. A short questionnaire guides our first design. Your photographer can select the images and arrange the pages, or you can choose favorites from your gallery and tell us which ones you’d like to see together. We balance the color across your selection for a consistent result in print. For changes to an individual photograph before printing, see our retouching options.
  3. Review the pages. You see every spread and the cover lettering. One round of revisions is included. We charge for each additional round. We print only after you approve the final design.
  4. Receive your book. We arrange tracked, insured delivery of your finished album to the address you choose.

Album questions

Can I decide on an album after I see my gallery?

Yes. You can commission an album separately after your session or event. We use only the photographs our team took for you.

Can our parents have a different wedding album?

Yes. Your parents can choose their favorites from your wedding gallery and have their own layout, cover, and inscription. Their album can be smaller than yours, the same size, or larger. Reusing your approved layout saves on design costs.

Can I arrange women-only handling?

Yes, for the New Zealand album. Tell us at the consultation so we can agree who will handle your photographs during album production. At the workshop, only women handle your photographs, from design and color work through printing and binding. We confirm the arrangements and any extra cost in advance.

Is shipping included?

Yes. Your quote includes tracked, insured shipping to most countries. We can send the book to you or directly to the person receiving it as a gift.

The Album Atelier

Let’s talk about your book

We’ll show you the three albums side by side and give you a quote for the one you choose.
