Mila and David at the Plaza
Mila and David brought sixteen guests to Paris for their wedding at Hôtel Plaza Athénée. Le Salon Organza held their vows; Le Salon Haute Couture would bring all eighteen together around one long mirrored table.
Chantelle Streete and the Kiss Me in Paris wedding planning team planned, designed, and produced the celebration, including the days around it. Mila’s dog joined the preparations and the ceremony, too.
The venue: Hôtel Plaza Athénée
The red awnings, flower-filled balconies, and ivy-covered courtyard made the hotel part of the story from the start.

Getting ready
Outside, the red awnings marked Avenue Montaigne. Upstairs, Mila opened Tiffany & Co. gifts and changed from her robe into her wedding dress, with her dog close by. David, already dressed, dozed on a red sofa while he waited.

First look
Mila met David on the hotel staircase. He laughed when he saw her. Then came a closer look at the lace and the pearls down her back, a few photographs, and time together before the ceremony.

The ceremony in Le Salon Organza
Marjolaine Vauchelle played harp and Santiago Falcón played violin in Le Salon Organza. Mila and David read their vows beside a Russian-speaking celebrant, with laughter and a few tears along the way. Mila’s dog stayed close, dressed for the occasion in black.

Cocktail hour
During cocktails, guests sat for portraits and gathered around the magician. Mila and David went to see Le Salon Haute Couture before everyone else. For a little while, the room was theirs.

Reception design in Le Salon Haute Couture
The long mirrored table, white flowers, candlelight, seating mirror, and custom dessert display were ready for the evening. They paused for a few family photographs before dinner.

The reception: dinner, cabaret and dancing
An evening of performances
The couple welcomed their guests, and costumed performers returned through dinner. Around one long table, the evening moved between conversation, speeches, and the show.

Cake, Champagne, and another dress
The cake did not all reach the plates. Mila left a little on David’s nose, with her mother watching nearby. There was Champagne to pour, dessert to share, and a shorter dress for what came next: a cancan entrance and dancing.

The after-party at Raspoutine
After dancing at the hotel, Mila and David left in a Rolls-Royce with close friends. At Raspoutine, their own table and Dom Pérignon kept the celebration going.

Planning the wedding weekend
Friday’s sidecars, wine workshop and dinner needed to work as a sequence. Saturday brought the hotel rooms, ceremony, flowers, music and performances together. Sunday needed its own beauty, photography and transport arrangements.
Mila and David planned from different cities and time zones, working across English and Russian. Chantelle helped keep those conversations connected.
During planning, Chantelle and our Paris wedding planning team presented a small selection of vetted options for the services and performances. Mila and David chose what belonged in their wedding. The Paris team then coordinated the bookings, hotel requirements, supplier access and production schedule.
Le Salon Organza gave the ceremony its smaller room; Le Salon Haute Couture allowed the reception and entertainment to take a different scale. Choosing two salons was part of one plan with the hotel team. Future layouts, access and production arrangements are confirmed with the hotel for each wedding.
The hotel team looked after its contracted services and property requirements. Kiss Me in Paris connected those arrangements to the whole weekend, including the experiences outside the hotel. The couple could discuss the decisions with their planner; the team in Paris could handle the practical conversations with the people delivering them.

“When we walked into the room at the Plaza Athénée, it was breathtaking. The ambiance, lighting, flowers, and overall mood were perfect.”

What to budget for a similar wedding
For a comparable multi-day wedding at Hôtel Plaza Athénée, planned and produced by Kiss Me in Paris, plan on a total celebration budget of over €100,000. The estimate depends on the dates, guest count, design, entertainment and events included. The budget section of our Paris wedding guide explains which costs change with each guest.
A smaller guest list gives a couple more time with the people coming. It does not remove the cost of a room, a production team, a performance or a second day’s arrangements. You approve the planning scope and supplier costs before bookings are confirmed. If you’re imagining vows for just the two of you, our Paris elopement planners offer a private Eiffel Tower terrace ceremony.
Questions about a Plaza Athénée wedding
Can Hôtel Plaza Athénée suit an intimate wedding?
Yes. Mila and David had sixteen guests, eighteen people including the couple. The choice of rooms, table and program let the small group stay together. For another wedding, the available salons and proposed layout need to suit that couple’s ceremony, dinner and entertainment. For a larger guest list, see how we planned a 240-guest wedding at Château Saint-Martin-du-Tertre.
Can the ceremony and reception happen in the same hotel?
They did for this celebration. Le Salon Organza held the English- and Russian-language ceremony; Le Salon Haute Couture held the reception. The rooms can connect, but availability and the proposed use of each space must be confirmed with the hotel for your date.
Should we arrange Paris portraits on the wedding day or another day?
Both approaches can work. Mila and David reserved Sunday for the longer Paris session so Saturday could stay focused on their ceremony and guests. A separate session adds its own photography, beauty and transport arrangements, which should be included in the plan.
What does an independent planner add to the hotel’s events team?
The hotel manages its contracted spaces, catering and property requirements. An independent planner joins that work to the rest of the celebration: design, outside suppliers, guests, transport and events elsewhere in Paris. Mila and David’s Friday activities and Sunday portraits were part of that wider scope.

The wedding weekend in Paris
The wedding brought their closest people to Paris. There was time on either side of it to enjoy the city together.
The day before: sidecars, wine, and dinner
A day earlier, Mila, David, and their guests had explored Paris by sidecar, joined a wine workshop at Les Caves du Louvre, and sat down to their rehearsal dinner at La Fontaine Gaillon.

Sunday portraits in Paris
On Sunday, a white vintage Rolls-Royce took them out for portraits around Paris, including the Medici Fountain in Luxembourg Gardens. With Bastille Eve road restrictions changing the trip back, they finished by Métro.
